Ahab is a very special dog here at Shaizach. We rarely keep a male but as a puppy he was one of our most beautiful. He exemplified correct body structure with proud carriage of his head above a beautifully long neck and had a sweet dreamy expression.
Tragically, Ahab had an accident at just 8 weeks old and suffered a broken rear leg. The break was so severe that we wondered if he would ever heal well enough to be competitive in a show ring.
After months in a cast and then many more months of physical therapy with swimming, the leg was well enough for a real conditioning training regimen. He has healed beautifully, become hard-muscled, and the broken leg is not noticable at all.
He now has beautiful movement, and a lean, clean head with beautiful dark eyes and a lovely jet-black coat with no rusting.
Ahab finished in just 6 weeks of showing with his friend Jessica Starbuck and now lives with and is owned by Nicole Ludwig.
